S355J2 and S355JR steel materials both comply to european steel specficiation BS EN 10025-2 hot rolled product for non-alloy structural steels.These two steel grades S355JR and S355J2 even owned the very similar chemical compositions and yield & tensile strength.The main difference is their application enviroments,steel materials S355J2 have to be done charp V notch impacting test at minus 20 deg.c,however S355JR no need.So S355J2 steel materials can be used in low temperature surroundings such as deep ocean platforms.
