Products Description

ASTM A36 is subjected to the following processes:

Normalizing at 899°C – 954°C (1650°F-1750°F)

Annealing at 843°C – 871°C(1550°F-1600°F)

Stress relieving at 677°C – 927°C(1250°F-1700°F)

Carburizing at 899°C – 927°C (1650°F-1700°F)

Hardening at 788°C – 816°C(1450°F-1500°F)

 

ASTM A572 grade 50 steel is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel with a yield strength of 50 ksi (345 MPa) and a tensile strength of 65 ksi (450 MPa). It has better mechanical properties than ASTM A36 steel. ASTM A572 contains 5 yield point grades: Grade 42, Grade 50, Grade 55, Grade 60 and Grade 65. Products cover structural steel shapes, plates, sheet piling, and bars. ASTM A572 GR 50 steel equivalent European standard is EN 10025-2 S355 steel.

 

ASTM A992 steel has the following minimum mechanical properties, according to ASTM specification A992/A992M. Tensile yield strength, 345 MPa (50 ksi); tensile ultimate strength, 450 MPa (65 ksi); strain to rupture (sometimes called elongation) in a 200-mm-long test specimen, 18 %; strain to rupture in a 50-mm-long test specimen, 21 %.
