A36 Angles iron are versatile, economical and strong. These angles are an alloy of manganese (1.03%), silicon (0.28%), carbon (0.25-0.29%), copper (0.2%0), sulfur (0.5%), and phosphorus (0.4%) and have a yield point of 36,000 psi and a tensile strength of 58,000 psi.
A572 Structural Steel Angle is made from hot-rolled, high-strength, low-alloy (HSLA) steel, which is stronger than A36 angle and is easy to weld, form, and machine. These angles are widely used, but require galvanizing or painting if exposed to atmospheric conditions.
