S235JR belongs to carbon structural steel
Carbon structural steel, English name: carbon structural steel, a kind of carbon steel. The carbon content is about 0.05% to 0.70%, and some can be as high as 0.90%. It can be divided into two categories: ordinary carbon structural steel and high-quality carbon structural steel. It has many uses and a large amount of use. It is mainly used in railways, bridges, various construction projects, and the manufacture of various metal components that bear static loads and unimportant mechanical parts and general welded parts that do not require heat treatment.
Mass fraction:
Carbon structural steel is generally not heat treated, but is used directly in the supply state. Usually Q195, Q215, Q235 steel has a low carbon mass fraction, good welding performance, good plasticity and toughness, and a certain strength. It is often rolled into thin plates, steel bars, welded steel pipes, etc., and is used in structures such as bridges and buildings and in the manufacture of ordinary screws, nuts and other parts. Q255 and Q275 steels have a slightly higher carbon mass fraction, higher strength, better plasticity and toughness, and can be welded. They are usually rolled into profiled steel, bars and steel plates as structural parts and as connecting rods, gears, couplings, pins and other parts for simple machinery.
